Taking a Seven Day Break from Twitter
No real reasons, just being random.
Okay, maybe it's because my idols MetroDad and Kanye West both hate on Twitter, and I will follow anything either of these people say:"EVERYTHING THAT TWITTER OFFERS I NEED LESS OF.
Sometimes I feel that this is very true.
I was recently at a dinner with a bunch of 20 year olds. All of them spent the entire night twittering. All it did was make me realize that kids today have the attention span of fruit flies. If you speak to them using more than 140 characters, their minds literally go into shutdown mode and they'll go on their iphones and twitter "stuck at dinner with a weird old guy who won't stop talking."
It's not really one of his funnier blog posts overall, and I was actually pretty surprised about how harshly he hates Twitter. One thing I wonder about, I disagree with him about how old the average Twitter user is-- I feel like the Twitter demographic is actually older than most Facebook or social network users... I'd say late-20s to mid-30s at least? That makes Twitter users at least twice as old as MySpace users, right?
I'll also be absent from Facebook for the seven days. I'll still be blogging here on slinlee.com though, so I realize, effectively, I'll still be posting to both Twitter and Facebook, I'll just never know if someone replies from there.
